The biggest gaming event of the year is just around the corner and even though Nintendo won't have a regular conference again, they'll be doing a bigger Nintendo Direct like last year and even more with things like Treehouse Live @ E3 and the Smash Bros Tournament. While many people are complaining, my question is: Why? It doesn't make any difference for us who are not present at E3 anyway. It is common knowledge that WiiU is not selling well to say the least and everyone has their set of things they want to see at E3.
I have formed a whole wishlist of things I want to see from Nintendo at E3 2014. Some of them are unlikely to appear, but it's a wishlist, and not a prediction list ;). The list isn't in any particular order.
Mother Trilogy HD
While I did say that the list doesn't have any top-list order, this entry is the thing I would love to see the most and sadly probably the least likely to appear. Shigesato Itoi stated that he's done with the Mother-series and it is complete. That's why I would love to see Nintendo giving the series the love it deserves by making an HD Trilogy, containing all three games remade with handrawn HD-visuals, new music and updated gameplay for Mother 1. It would be a perfect treat for all the loyal fans of the series as well as a chance for newcomers to discover why the series is so beloved by its fans.
Just imagine the games with this kind of music (Though Mother 2/EarthBound should still have the same musical style as the originals):

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D
I know, I know... Everyone wants this to happen and I'm one of them. Simply because, aside from Twilight Princess, Majora's Mask is in my opinion the second best Zelda game. Nintendo knows we want it and the engine is already there with Ocarina of Time 3D. Who knows, maybe it's already in development.
The Legend of Zelda Wii U
We're very likely to see something about the upcoming big game in the series. We've already been promised things we haven't seen before and a more open world. So what do I want to see? A world like that of Twilight Princess, but more open, kinda like Skyrim. More focus on freely exploring and more sidequests, all in glorious HD-visual that utilizes WiiU's power to its fullest
More platforms for WiiU's virtual console
The Virtual Console on WiiU kinda sucks right now. Sure, we got EarthBound and GBA games and the DS games are on the way, but where are the N64 games? Or even better, Gamecube games. Having that ultimate VC would be really amazing. I hope Nintendo will announce some new Virtual Console related things.
Miiverse app for smartphone
As Nintendo enters the smartphone world with Mario Kart TV app, all I wanna see is a Miiverse app with more features that the web versions. Like being able to send private messages to your friends or even make hand-drawn posts. The message and friend request features should also be enabled on the 3DS.
A Pokemon game for WiiU
There are rumors about a game called Pokken Fighters, being developed together with Namco. A fighting game with our favorite Pokemon would be awesome, but I would also like to see a Pokemon Stadium-esque game on WiiU. Who doesn't want to see their favorite Pokemon in HD (outside of Smash Bros)? Even Pokemon Snap 2 would be nice, even though I didn't really find the first one as good as people say.
A new Star Fox/F-Zero/Metroid game for WiiU
Nintendo doesn't seem to treat some of their franchises as well as the others. When was the last time we've seen a Star Fox game? On DS, and while the endings kinda suggested it being the end of the story, I bet they still have ideas for a new Star Fox. Or they could just you know... Use that new Star Fox team from one of the better endings. They seem quite awesome. Just imagine a game like Star Fox 64 in awesome HD. Nintendo knows how to do awesome-looking games. Give it a bigger story mode and a good multiplayer and there we go.
A new F-Zero would be sweet too. Super-fast racing in 1080p 60 fps. Who wouldn't want to see that? We need another F-Zero game.
And finally Metroid. Be it Metroid Prime 4 or something completely new. A new Metroid game would satisfy many fans of the series and could even bring some new gamers into the series or maybe even bring some Xbox/PS gamers to WiiU if it had a decent single- and multiplayer. And it would be best if any of these games were made by Retro Studios
A 3DS-Player for WiiU
Watching videos from various 3DS games on my Smart TV, I realized how nice it would be to play some off those game on the big screen. Either by streaming or by an extension, it would really be nice to play your 3DS on the TV. It works with Vita and PSP, so why not.
The Rumored NFC figures
Lately, the internet got some rumor (or is it confirmed now o.o? )about a Skylanders-like thing from Nintendo, using the NFC on WiiU and possibly a special adapter for 3DS. Why I am not a fan of Skylanders, the same thing with Nintendo characters would be quite awesome and could attract many children and adults alike.
Animal Crossing Wii U
Animal Crossing works the best on a portable system, but to be honest I would really like to see it in HD as well. My idea for it is that it could work in a similar way that Monster Hunter 3U did. The player could just transfer their save data to their WiiU when they're at home and transfer it back while going away. It would be basically the same game but with better online compatibilities.
New Ouendan or Taiko no Tatsujin for all regions with the JAPANESE songs
I really love japanese rhythm games, especially Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! (aka Elite Beat Agents in the west) and Taiko no Tatsujin. It would be nice to see those two get a new game for all regions instead of being Japan-only, but they should keep their original japanese soundtracks. 3DS or WiiU, it wouldn't matter
Something entirely new
An entirely new IP
More about existing projects
Inclusing Smash Bros, X, Bayonetta 2 etc. and thier release dates,
That's pretty much it, a quite long list indeed. I hope at least some of these things will be announced.
All aboard the hype train!
