The reason for that is quite simple: their games give you the most pure gaming joy. I'm not trying to say that other games aren't fun, because they obviously are, but Nintendo is a special kind of fun. While many other developers try to have the best graphics and realism, Nintendo wants to make their games fun, play well and be accesible for everyone. Many people accuse Nintendo for "making the same games over and over again", (which by itself is funny seeing how everybody else does the same thing) but even though it is yet another entry in the series, they still feel fresh and are very fun to play.
The fact many games are accesible for everyone is a plus for me as well. There isn't too many games that you can enjoy with your family and friends at home that aren't made by Nintendo. To be honest, those games give the most pure gaming joy, whether it's Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Wii Sports or Super Mario 3D World.
The consoles may not have the best graphics, but Nintendo themselves know how to use it well and on top of that they innovate the industry with new gaming ideas such as motion controls, handheld console with a touchscreen and 3D etc.
Let's not forget all the amazing game series they're behind: Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Pokemon, Kirby, Mother, Star Fox, F-Zero etc. I love their games and look forward to seeing even more.
